BNBU students excel in design, business and English competitions

Students from Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) have recently achieved outstanding results in multiple national and international competitions across design, business, and language studies.

At the Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) World Championship China Finals, five students from BNBU’s School of Culture and Creativity (SCC), Xu Manzhen, Ouyang Wensi, Long Jiayi, Wu Zhijing and Cheng Xiaoyan, advanced to the national final. Among them, Xu won the Graphic Design Championship and will attend the global finals in the US, while Long received the First Prize in the same category.

The competition, jointly organised by Adobe and Certiport, is one of the world’s leading design contests, attracting over 300,000 participants from more than 70 countries and regions each year. This year, the BNBU students were led by Dr Iceman Leung, with Dr Andy Tam serving as their mentor.

In the 18th Rush Hour (Cesim Elite China) Business Simulation Competition, an interdisciplinary BNBU team comprising Wu Jiayi from the Faculty of Business and Management (FBM) and Xie Siyu from SCC won the National First Prize in the undergraduate category, as well as the Best Poster Award. Their innovative business strategy and strong teamwork were highly recognised by the judges. Ms Li Mengyi got recognised as the Outstanding Tutor.

As a competition with widespread influence in China, this year’s event attracted nearly 170 universities and over 2,000 teams from across the country. The final comprises three main components: simulation exercises, business presentations and team introductions in English.

Meanwhile, Huang Ziyan, a first-year student from BNBU’s FBM, won the Special Prize in the Guangdong Division of the 2026 National English Competition for College Students (NECCS) and successfully advanced to the national finals in the non-English major group. Ms Gil Wang acted as her instructor.

NECCS is one of China’s largest and most widely participated-in national competitions for university students’ comprehensive English proficiency.

These achievements reflect BNBU students’ growing strengths in creativity, interdisciplinary learning, and global competitiveness across diverse fields.
