Published on 16 October 2026

The world's top 2% scientists list for 2026, compiled by Stanford University and Elsevier, has been published, with 18 Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) scholars included.

Of these, 16 were recognised in the Career-Long Impact category, including two ranked among the world’s top 100 in their respective fields. 14 scholars were included in the Single-Year Impact category, with three ranked among the global top 100 in their fields. 12 scholars appeared on both lists.

Their research spans fields including artificial intelligence and image processing, information systems, food science, logistics and transportation, numerical and computational mathematics, statistics and probability, and networking and telecommunications, reflecting BNBU’s strengths in interdisciplinary research across the sciences and humanities.

In recent years, BNBU has continued to strengthen its research capacity through increased investment and support systems. Platforms such as the Institute of Advanced Study (IAS), the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Interdisciplinary Research and Application for Data Science and its postdoctoral research stations in mathematics and statistics have supported interdisciplinary research and exploration at the frontiers of knowledge. The Guangdong and Hong Kong Universities "1+1+1" Joint Research Collaboration Scheme, launched by the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, BNBU and Hong Kong Baptist University, has further advanced cross-border research collaboration.
