BNBU organises the Second Session of the Second Staff Congress

On 8 April 2026, the Second Session of the Second BNBU Staff Congress was held at Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU). A total of 70 representatives attended the meeting, meeting the quorum requirements.

In his opening remarks, Prof Mao Yaqing, Party Secretary of the University Party Committee and Vice President (Administration), emphasised that the Staff Congress serves as an important platform for faculty and staff to participate in the University’s democratic governance and supervision. He encouraged representatives to actively contribute ideas and support the University’s high-quality development.

Prof Patrick Chau, Provost, presented The University Work Report 2025, reviewing achievements across key areas including institutional development, talent cultivation, admissions and employment, international collaboration, faculty development, discipline advancement, communication work, and industry-university-research innovation.

Mr Kenneth Huang, Chief Financial Officer, and Prof Terry Ye, Chair of the BNBU Union, delivered the financial and union work reports, respectively. The Human Resources Office also introduced revisions to the BNBU Staff Handbook (5th Version), which was approved unanimously by attending representatives.

The meeting also reported on the implementation of 13 proposals from the previous Staff Congress and outlined arrangements for proposal submission and follow-up for the current session.
